Philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline. Philosophy comes from the Greek word philosophia, meaning "love of wisdom".

He believed that by accepting the award, he would become Jean-Paul Sartre the Nobel Peace Prize Winner, not Jean-Paul Sartre the writer, which he wished to remain.
